On Silver seedling's Cosmic connection, and others

As you might have noticed, more often than not I'm wearing different silver pendants and charms in my photos, and today I'd like to talk a bit about them. They're all from a Canadian maker, Nikki Hollett, who makes different types of jewelry under the brands Miner Mocs&Metals and Silver Seedling. I have a bunch of pieces from each, and they are all very well made and beautifully distinct. The difference between the two branches is that MMM pieces are extra sturdy - so called mama metal, made to be worn while wearing, playing with or feeding a young child - with durability to withstand tugs and chewing and other shenanigans little ones come up with. They MMMs are all hand forged/fused, whereas several of the SS pieces are casted. I also feel they are a bit more elaborate, many of them with semi precious stones attached.

The piece on the pics above is the newest design, called Cosmic connection, and I love it for the endless configuration possibilities. It's made up of seven circles, the biggest around 4 cm across and the smallest 1 cm, and they're not chained together, one connected to the next, but rather intertwined and the chain can be worn going through or clasping in one or several of the circles. It makes the most beautiful chiming sound when you move and it's definitely my (and other!) kids' favourite of all my pieces. As soon as I pick one of the kids up while wearing this they start running their fingers through the bigger circles and shaking it. I've been using this with the MMM Mountain hybrid chain that has two infinity charms on the length of the chain and two lobster clasps, and it works so well either with the clasps in two of the circles or pulled through and back, with the clasps locking into one of the infinity charms instead. The only setback is that I once found a configuration I absolutely loved, and now can't remember how I threaded the chain to create it... (Pictured in front of Lovaloom Astra Pêche Melba and together with a Linuschka Orpheus proto - you can also see the MMM Harvest pendant peeking through)

Another statement piece is the Stag talisman with a forrest agate attached. It's bold and eyecatching but still has a soft, feminine aspect because of the rounding shape of the antlers. The square agate hanging from it adds tension - between the round and the square shape, and between the bright silver and the dark stone. (Pictured with Hubertine Syrinx Neige)

This one is the Mama moon pendant which has a hammered texture on all pieces but the little full moon circle. I love this because for me it works like a little calendar - hanging from the moon circle when the moon is waxing and waning, and the hanging from the petal shape, allowing the little moon to fall down next to the crescent when the moon is full. (Here pictured with Hubertine Joséphine B. Absinthe, Hubertine Winona La Nuit and a Linuschka Rhapsody proto)

This is the Healer Amulet with a pendant with a round Lapis Lazuli and a tumbled Moonstone. It has two longer copper "feathers" and a shorter silver one. This is probably the most ornate piece I have and I love to dress simple outfits out with it. Thanks to the infinity bale the chain goes through it's slightly larger (or at least longer) than many of the others, and worn on a very long chain it's a piece that catches attention.

The Eagle talisman is my strongest piece and I love wearing it when I need a reminder that being uncompromising and doing before asking is more important than following arbitrary rules or getting caught up in the little things. It has a strong shape with the straight line creating the upper side of the wings, and the arc shaped copper tail feathers add life to it. (Worn together with Lovaloom Petalon Paloma)
