2017 Ingleside Winery Albariño

On our last stop in Virginia, we visited a newer addition to my series bringing you some of the best wines from across the state - CrossKeys Vineyard. The last wine we enjoyed from this winery was a red wine from its 2016 vintage - the 2016 Merlot produced & bottled by CrossKeys Vineyards. Today, we're headed back to Virginia for a wine from a winery that I've featured many times before:
2017 Albariño produced & bottled by Ingleside Winery (Oak Grove, Virginia).

This wine is 100% albariño. Fermentation lasted 24 days at 57 degrees. The resulting wine comes in at 13% ABV.

Here it is in the glass:
Another look:
One more:
The wine showed a golden color. Apple, lemon candy, slate and blood orange all arrived on the citrus-laden nose. Apple, lemongrass, quince, peach and slate followed on a palate that introduced the nuance of quince. The wine exhibited great acidity and minerality, along with good structure and length. This wine would be an ideal aperitif and would pair well with a shrimp ceviche or steamed mussels with coconut milk and lemongrass.

This limited production wine is exclusively available in the winery's tasting room and from the winery's online store. It can be purchased for $24.95* in the tasting room or directly from the winery's website in its online store.

More to come from Ingleside Winery!
