Brunch, Book Hauls & Blogger Events | Month in Review: February 2019

I cannot believe that February is over already and we’re into the third month of 2019! Where has that time gone? Anyway, here is a rundown of a few things I’ve been up to in February...
I have to start by talking about the Super Bowl. If you don’t already know, I am a big fan of American football and I love watching any NFL games. However, my favourite team are the New England Patriots and they made it into the Super Bowl again this year, so I was very excited to watch it live on TV (even though it didn’t start until midnight!) I am very happy to report that the Patriots won, even if it wasn’t the most entertaining game and was the lowest scoring Super Bowl final of all time! Go Pats!

I attended the Scholastic Book Bloggers' Feast in February: my second book event of the year. It worked almost like a mini book convention. I had a fantastic time, meeting some wonderful people and hearing some incredible authors talk on panels about key themes, upcoming releases and the inspiration behind their writing. We also did a book quiz, which the authors came and joined in with, and were given some fantastic goodies to take home. I now have a lot of reading to do and I cannot wait to get started. A massive thank you to the team at Scholastic for inviting me along and putting on such a lovely brunch event.

I was very excited to be a part of the Enchantée blog tour last month too. It is a book that I have been interested in reading since I first saw it and read the synopsis, so when I was given the opportunity to read an advanced proof copy and be part of the book’s digital tour, I jumped at the chance to be involved. You can read my review here.

I've also caught up with friends and family during the half term break, including a brunch date with one of my best friends from school. It was so nice to meet up and share stories from the last few months, along with reminiscing about school memories.

I also found some time to sort out my bookcase, which had become a mess of towering paperback and hardback books, balancing on top of each other. I took the whole collection off and spread them out on my living room floor, only to count them and find that I had over 250 books crammed onto a three-shelved bookcase (and that isn't even all of them!) It is finally tidy now and some of the books have been boxed away so that it looks less cluttered.

The final thing I want to talk to you about is my health. I haven’t been in the best place the last few weeks in terms of my wellbeing but I am getting back on track. I’m not going to talk too much about it, those who need to know and are closest to me already know what’s going on so I don’t need to go into detail on here, but I just wanted you guys to be aware in case I’m not posting as much or not as active. I am trying to keep everything going as much as I possibly can so hopefully there won’t be any changes to the blog or across social media.

The Lost Girls of Camp Forevermore by Kim Fu
Enchantée by Gita Trelease
Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus
Proud by various authors, compiled by Juno Dawson
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

The best book I've read this month is... Enchantée by Gita Trelease (you can read more about it in my post from the blog tour here)

This month I have enjoyed watching... American football (again!) As I have already mentioned, I stayed up to watch the Super Bowl.

The songs I've had on repeat this month are...

  • The Champion - Carrie Underwood feat. Ludacris
  • NASA - Ariana Grande
  • Dancing With A Stranger - Sam Smith & Normani
  • I'm Comin' Over - Chris Young
  • Why Did It Have To Be Me? - Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again soundtrack

One beauty item I've been loving this month is... Lanoliné Rosehip Oil Skin Renew Firming Serum. It has really saved my skin this month, helping to keep it moisturised and smooth.

March is set to be another busy month, with another blog tour and book event in a couple of weeks. I have so many blog posts planned too, so hopefully you will get to see some of those this month too.
