A Morning Offering
In the half light of an empty church I sit and wait
I contemplate the wonder of mans heavenly fate
It is in here that I pray
Lord may I forever stay
Where a sliver of hope shines in a darkened place
Where a lonely soul is comforted in his own space
Where divine love finds a heart to reign from within
Where feuding spirits choose peace over angers din
Where a new morning gently invades a waking spirit
Where in the silence of adoration faith’s fires are lit
It is in here that I pray
Lord may I forever stay
Where charity clings to the soul before God’s presence
Where justice disturbs the destructive nature of violence
Where confusion is dispersed and all of life makes sense
Where I discover my desire to reside from this day hence
It is in here that I pray
